Duke basketball:
We had a jolly time with Dan (Jon’s friend visiting from DC) at a Christmas party in the city and later watching Die Hard (that will get you into the Christmas spirit). We all cheered on Duke as they played Washington at Madison Square Garden. Duke won 86-80! Go Blue Devils!
SantaCon:
Santacon is a non-denominational, non-commercial, non-political and non-sensical Santa Claus convention that has occurred every December since 2010.
SantaCon event is for adults, an excuse to dress up like Santa Claus and go cavorting around town on a pub crawl. The day starts around 9-10am and by the time early evening rolled around, I was thoroughly amused and annoyed by the Santa drunkenness.
I felt bad for the kids visiting NYC during Christmas, as I’m sure they were confused by the thousands of Santas and their rowdy behavior.
Sunday surprise:
Jon and I found out the next afternoon that we were expecting J We were beside ourselves, radiating with joy! Baby Swope on the way – his/her debut around August 12, 2012.
